There are few moments in my professional career that I look upon with more fondness than I do the summer of 2006.
With the television on in the background and World Cup brackets hanging at our desks, I managed to turn quite a few coworkers into legitimate soccer fans.
This year, I’ve employed the use of the office whiteboard wall and strong doses of peer pressure to push my coworkers onto the World Cup bandwagon.
Without a convenient television to gather around, we’re missing a bit of the atmosphere from my workplace-meets-World Cup setup from 2006. But that’s what ESPN Radio and streaming video is for. (Sorry, everyone else, for hogging the bandwidth.)
I will make it work. Seeing as how I’ll be missing two weeks of work to, you know, SEE GAMES IN PERSON.
